The brain and behavior concentration is designed for students who want to explore human behavior from a biological perspective. Students will delve deeper into the topics of how neural communication and synaptic transmission result in overt behavior, the positive and negative influences of pharmacological agents on behavior, and the physiological basis of psychological disorders. In addition, students will have the opportunity to work in a faculty-directed research lab, assisting with innovative research in the field of behavioral neuroscience. This concentration is ideal for students interested in graduate studies in behavioral neuroscience, neuropsychology, clinical psychology (with a focus on clinical neuroscience), or experimental psychology, or for students interested in attending medical school to become a psychiatrist or neurologist.
