Chrissy Lawver’s journey at «Ӱҵ shaped her into a servant leader.
Through the guidance of mentors, and a wealth of experiences—from Greek Life to being Klondike to helping coordinate orientation leaders—Chrissy learned the value of humility and genuine care for others.
Though she considers herself a work in progress, she strives to be “the kind of person who always looks out for the wellbeing of others, showing kindness and generosity.”
Chrissy majored in both management and marketing, with a minor in leadership studies, in the Dicke College of Business Administration. After graduation, the East Sparta, Ohio native will embark on a new chapter, moving to Hawaii with her husband and high school sweetheart. He’s a West Point graduate and U.S. Army officer who is being stationed on the island.
While she plans to settle in before launching her job search, Chrissy wants to work in event planning and marketing for a small community non-profit. She’s passionate about helping people acquire life skills that enable them to better their lives. Working with a YWCA women’s shelter in high school, and interning with Beatitudes in Ada, showed her that small organizations can make a big difference.
“I love that you get to deal directly with people and see the impact you are making every single day,” she said. “That just fuels me to continue to work hard.”
Chrissy was recently named “Greek Woman of the Year” in recognition for her strong leadership skills and positive contributions to campus, including promoting school spirit as Klondike, «Ӱҵ’s mascot. The Klondike Reveal—when she unmasked to a surprised group of friends—was amazing, she says.
“It was just surreal; it’s a memory that will be seared in my brain forever.”
Aloha Chrissy, Class of 2025! You made an indelible impression at «Ӱҵ, and you will be greatly missed. Best of luck in the future!
